Like his first signature all-gold boot, which debuted in the 2014 World Cup, Neymar Jr. and Nike continue the trend with another metallic, flashy colorway for the Barcelona star's second signature Hypervenom Phantom. The Liquid Diamond features a chrome upper with subtle design details that mimic the cuts of a diamond. Bright Volt and Hyper Pink highlights are featured throughout the Nike Swoosh accents, and a gold tongue hints back at the "Golden Dream" Hypervenom that Neymar wore in the later rounds of the World Cup.

The "Liquid Diamond" aesthetic was inspired by Neymar's rare bond with his sister, as well as the fluidity of his playing style. A diamond tattoo with the word "sorella" for sister covers Neymar's upper shoulder, and his sister has a matching diamond with the word "fratello" for brother above hers. To round out the bold design, bright accent colors were added to reflect Neymar's cheerful and energetic spirit.
